“What a cracking place! Firstly Jane and Bryan are wonderful hosts. Jane was very responsive and very kind in messages from the moment I booked months ago. The house was spotlessly clean and super comfortable. Free of clutter but very cozy. Excellent parking RIGHT outside the front door! Lovely little garden with sheep out front you can stare at for hours! The weather was a bit pants during our week but when you have such a lovely home to stay in, it’s not a disaster! Sleights is a sweet little village with a Spar and cafe etc. A convenient bus route into Whitby and beyond and the area is very easy to navigate driving wise. In terms of what to do in the area, where do I start?! Whitby Abbey, lots of National Trust and English Heritage properties, beaches galore (we saw a seal on Sandsend beach!) and places like Scarborough and York a drive away. Also the cost per night was soooo reasonable for what we got. We’ll be back in the warm weather for sure. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again!”
“We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage. It was extremely clean, cozy, and thoughtfully set up. The location was stunning, surrounded by amazing scenery, making it a perfect getaway. “This cottage was lovely. We wanted a quiet break to recharge our batteries and were able to do this here. The cottage had all the facilities we could need and everything was spotlessly clean. It’s well situated for the coast or a trip to the moors, which ever is your preference. Our host was very friendly and extremely helpful, so we couldn’t have asked for more. Everything is completely dog friendly and Jayne (our host), made sure our furry companion was made just as welcome as we were. The little personal touches that Jayne left were amazing and a very pleasant surprise after a slightly frazzled journey. All in all this was a great place to stay and couldn’t have wished for more. We have already recommended it to a few people already, so I hope there’ll be availability when we want to go again. Which we undoubtedly will. Thank you for a lovely stay!! P. S. The chip shop in the village is the best we’ve ever been to!!! We can’t recommend it highly enough.”
“My family and I spent a lovely long weekend at Farm cottage. Jane met us on arrival and gave clear instructions to find the property. Inside was sparkling clean and exactly as pictured. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog. Had everything you could need and the home baked cake waiting on our kitchen table was a lovely welcoming touch! Great location within 15 mins drive of the coast. Would absolutely recommend 😀”
“Jane gave clear instructions for finding the cottage and was there to greet us on arrival, and both she and Bryan available if we needed them throughout our stay. It was a lovely surprise to walk into such a clean cottage with cut flowers and a cake waiting for us. The kitchen was well equipped, we found everything we needed; its so nice to have hand and dish soap provided, as well as cotton wool and tissues, and towels in the bathroom. Beds were super comfy and linen crisp and clean. The double bedroom and bathroom were smaller than we expected from the photos, however, we were comfy and cosy and it wasn’t a problem for us. We came primarily to visit Whitby, but instead of cramming into the town, we preferred the location of Lowdale Cottage, which is easily accessible to Whitby as well other local attractions as Jane and Bryan have described.
